General Entry Guidelines

The competition is open to both restaurants and bars launched or renovated in the UK between the 1st April 2007 and 7th January 2009 and their project and product designs. All projects must be located in the UK, but can be situated as stand alone, or as part of any other complex or larger space such as hotel, airport, retail centre, office etc.

Design products that are entered must be present in restaurants and bars (* see exception). The restaurants and bars must be located in the UK and have been launched or refurbished between 1st April 2007 and 7th January 2009.

All work must be entered in collaboration. If you are a designer, manufacturer or supplier your entry must be made with the relevant restaurant or bar. If you are a restaurant or bar you can only enter in collaboration with your designer, manufacturer or supplier.

* There is an exception in the 'emerging talent' category where products must be 'suitable' to restaurant and bar use and not necessarily located within them.

Which category?

Work can be entered into as many categories as you feel are appropriate. If you collaborated on a piece of work with another company or individual, you will need to make sure they haven't entered it into the same categories as you. Work can only be entered into each category once.

Prepare your work

Make sure all entry materials (text and other media) are clear, concise and of the best quality possible. Poor quality visual media will not only let down your application, but will also exclude their use in any possible Restaurant and Bar Design Awards press and advertising. Further guidelines will become available once online entry commences.

Judging criteria

Ensure that you understand the panel's judging criteria and make your entries in a manner that fulfils them.

Ensure that you meet deadlines

It is essential that all work is entered in full and on time. Any work that does not meet these criteria may be rejected from the competition.
